Withdrawal of all products

The government has taken a complex of measures that led to the famine. In addition to the imprisonments and executions, the peasants were deported "for sabotaging the grain procurement plan" with a wide publicity in the press. For the population, access to the food was blocked: a ban on free trade, on giving bread for public catering to collective farmers, the prohibition on granting organic advances to collective farmers and the return of previously given advances, and the termination of collective farmers' wages. Violation of these requirements resulted in severe punishment. Everything happened in the conditions of the removal of all grain in the count of plan.

In order to kill the Ukrainian peasantry on November 18, 1932, the natural (organic) fines were established in extremely large amounts. As fines the authorities were confiscating: the property, all food, even clothes from people. The well-trained communists from industrial centers, not from Ukraine only, were sent to the Ukrainian villages for the effective implementation of this order.

And in the end of December 1932, from Ukraine were taken out all available funds of grain from the collective farms, including seed funds, which were prepared for sowing for the next harvest. In spring of 1933, the Kremlin returned a certain amount of grain to Ukraine, but already as a seed loan to provide a seed sowing company.
