Unusual History Lessons on the Basis of Our Exhibition

History teacher of Oleshnytia Secondary School (Transcarpathian region) Bohdan Maryna gives students unusual and interactive history lessons on the basis of our exhibition "Guardians of the Truth."

“Guardians of the Truth” photo exhibition is the result of expeditions and interviews conducted by the museum staff. We reconstructed the story of the Holodomor from pieces of many different, but united by the common trauma people, the guardians of truth. Among the heroes of the exhibition, there are Patriarch Filaret, director of the museum of local history, former university Lecturer, local activist, and 8 other people with incredible life stories.

Personally told stories, as well as artistic photographs by Kseniya Piliavska, help students better understand the complex theme of the Holodomor-genocide and remove barriers to the study of Ukrainian history, encourage children to explore their own origins and family stories.

The exhibition was displayed at Oleshnytsia School from September 1 to September 16 and did not leave any residents of the village indifferent.

Recall that the exhibition was held within the framework of the project of the Holodomor Museum "Exhibitions about the Holodomor in the Regions of Ukraine". You can also order this and other mobile banner exhibitions for displaying in your museum, library, or school at (044) 254-45-12.
