In 2008 “The National Memory Book of Holodomor victims” 1932-1933 in Ukraine was issued in 19 volumes.
Martyrology of the National Memory Book has only 882,510 names.
Since the day of its establishment the Holodomor Victims Memorial is in searches of the names of those who were killed in the Holodomor-genocide by collecting testimonies of the Holodomor survivors and their relatives who preserved the memory about everyone for whom 1932-1933 were the last years in their lives.
Soviet totalitarian regime made grate efforts to erase the memory about murder of more than 7 million of Ukrainians for several generations. But the memory of the people is invincible. And with the development of Ukraine's independence, the ban to talk about the Holodomor was thwarted. All who were made to be silent for decades felt the necessity to tell the truth about the crime and its victims, in order to properly honor their memory.
In 2011, the Holodomor Victims Memorial presented “People’s Book of Memory”, martyrology of which includes 3,919 names.
The search continues. The established names of genocide victims inserts to Unified Register of Holodomor victims.
