Against the Holodomor

Resistance against collectivization often acquired more than violent forms. During 1929-1930, tremendous efforts were made to prevent peasants from possessing weapons. By the decrees of 1926, 1928 and 1929 were introduced a mandatory registration of the hunting weapons. In August 1930, because of the small unrests it became clear that the decrees were not executed, and it was ordered to "conduct wide-spread searches". Among the registered by JPDU in 1930, 13754 peasant unrests (2.5 million participants), rebellions and riots - 4,098 (more than 1 million participants) took place in Ukraine. A part of the unrests was political in nature: the participants proclaimed the slogans "Away the Soviet government!", "Long live the independent Ukraine!" and sang "The glory and the freedom of Ukraine has not yet perished"

With the bigger force the resistance of population unfolded, with the same force its suppression was carried out as well as the policy of collectivization, the failure of which in Ukraine Stalin under stood in March 1930. At the same time, the authorities refused from forced collectivization to regroup their own forces in order to resume the offensive as soon as possible.
