Kansas became the 10th USA-state to recognize the Holodomor as a genocide of the Ukrainian people

Another US state joined the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine as a genocide of the Ukrainian people. Governor of Kansas State, on May 7, 2007 has signed the relevant resolution, is reported on the Facebook page of the Ukrainian embassy in the United States.

"The Holodomor was a man-made famine organized by communist regime of Joseph Stalin in 1932-1933 to destroy the resistance of Ukrainians to the actions of the communist leadership and the collectivization of private households and was a deliberate act of genocide of the Ukrainian nation," the proclamation proclaims.

As it became known, 2018 year in the state of Kansas declared a year of memory of the Holodomor-genocide.

As for today, the Holodomor in Ukraine has been recognized as genocide in ten US states: Washington, Wisconsin, Illinois, Kansas, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, New York, Oregon and Pennsylvania.

We remind that in early May this year New York State has joined the recognition of the Holodomor in Ukraine as a genocide against the Ukrainian people.
