Holodomor Victims Memorial Day (2014)

News 30 November 2014

On November, 22, The Holodomor victims' Memory Day, for the first time in the past 5 years authorities and the public have commemorated together at the Holodomor Victims’ Memorial. The slogan of memorable days of this year was: "By the famine our freedom has being killed. Not conquered in the 1933 - invincible today! ".

Commemorative ceremonies were held throughout Ukraine, except Crimea and some settlements of Donetsk and Lugansk regions, which at that moment were annexed and occupied by Russian terrorists. At the occupied territories, raising the issue of the Holodomor and commemorating the victims of genocide is dangerous for the lives of Ukrainians, because the Russian Federation denies Stalin's intention to destroy part of the Ukrainian nation in 1932-1933 in order to prevent the national liberation movement and the withdrawal of Ukraine from the USSR.
