"Famine-33" is based on the story of Vasyl Barka "Yellow prince". This is the first feature film that reveals the crime of Stalin's totalitarian regime against the people of Ukraine – an artificial famine of 1932 – 1933 years. The film tells about the coming to power of the Bolsheviks, Stalin establishment of a new leader of the state and establish control by force over all aspects of social and political life in Ukraine. Particular attention is paid to the policy of the Communists in agriculture and publication of criminal laws, which deprived farmers of the right to food and thus the right to life. The plot of the film – an ordinary peasant family – children, father and wife and their old mother, who soon began to bear first loss of hunger ... Weak children died the first. The suffering of ordinary Ukrainian family can be seen by audience through the eyes of a hungry child.
